Our Mission & Values

Creating spaces for honest conversation, thoughtful listening, and meaningful connection.

Why we exist

In a world of increasing division, we chose conversation. BCTC began locally as a response to the need for safer spaces to discuss difficult topics, and from the outset was shaped as a model that could be replicated and carried into many communities.

👉 Our mission is to empower people in the community to stand up against Jewish hatred through civil discourse, education, and meaningful human connection.

We realized that traditional debate formats often deepen divides. By focusing on lived experience and structured listening, we create a container where people can actually hear each other, fostering empathy even amidst disagreement.

What do we mean by “Safe place”?

A space where everyone feels respected, valued, and free to share ideas without fear of judgment, bias, or hostility.

Diverse perspectives are welcomed and disagreements are handled with kindness and empathy.

While we can’t guarantee perfect harmony, we are committed to addressing any behavior or words that may feel harmful, ensuring a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Hate, violence, or disrespect of any kind have no place here.

Trained facilitators skilled in guiding discussions and maintaining a respectful environment intervene, if necessary.
