🔥 The Power of Conversation: Reflections on BCTC’s 5th Event 🗣️

1–2 minutes

read

At Building Community Through Conversations (BCTC), we create spaces for real dialogue—where people from different backgrounds, faiths, and perspectives come together to listen, learn, and ask the hard questions.

Back in July, we hosted our 5th event, and the discussions were as insightful as they were necessary. This gathering was interfaith and deeply personal, offering a safe space to share concerns, challenge narratives, and seek understanding.

Addressing Today’s Challenges

Beyond personal stories, we tackled pressing issues that impact many of us, including:
Reporting antisemitism—how and when to take action, and the barriers that sometimes prevent people from speaking up.
Sending kids to college—the concerns families face as they prepare their children for campuses where bias and hostility may exist.

Perspectives Across Generations & Backgrounds

One of the most powerful aspects of the evening was hearing from people with diverse life experiences—not just different ages, but different backgrounds, professions, and personal journeys. Their voices reminded us how history, identity, and lived experiences shape our understanding of the world and why these conversations are crucial for building a stronger, more connected community.

The Conversation Doesn’t End Here

One thing was clear: the need to listen and learn from one another has never been greater.

We are grateful 🙏 to everyone who attended, shared, and engaged.

What stood out most was that the discussion didn’t stop. The need to listen, learn, and connect was undeniable.
