🌟 A Multigenerational Dialogue That Matters

On a warm summer night, 30 interfaith participants—ranging from high schoolers to grandparents—gathered at the home of Jessica Levy Goldberg for Building CommUNITY Through Conversations (BCTC)’s 4th event. This powerful discussion sparked hope, understanding, and action, bringing together neighbors, extended family, and friends to engage in civil discourse about Israel and the rise of antisemitism.

📖 A Book Club with Purpose

The evening’s conversation centered around Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth by Noa Tishby. Like many book clubs, only a handful had actually read the book—but that didn’t slow the dialogue. Thought-provoking questions from teens (ages 15+) confirmed the importance of continuing to educate ourselves and those around us.

🗣️ Fighting Misinformation with Knowledge

A key theme of the evening was the growing spread of misinformation on social media and in the news. Participants voiced concerns about how biased reporting and unchecked narratives have shaped public perception of Israel and the Jewish community. Through “kind and curious” discussions, we explored ways to support our Jewish friends and ensure fact-based learning in our schools and communities.

💡 Key Takeaways from the Discussion:

Good can win over evil—when people unite in open, honest conversations.
Education is key—we must continue learning and teaching others.
Dialogue matters—civil discourse helps break down barriers and build trust.
Community is our strength—together, we can make a difference.

💬 Through community dialogue, we deepened our understanding of the complexities of the Middle East and reaffirmed the importance of standing up, speaking out, and taking action.

🌍 BCTC is Growing!

What started in East Cobb has now expanded to Sandy Springs, North Decatur, and Gwinnett!
