Between Conversations, We’re Still Here
What We’re Writing About
Some things need more space than a social post.
And some questions keep coming up long after a conversation ends.
What do we do with the questions, stories and ideas that stay with us after everyone goes home?
That’s where the BCTC Blog comes in.
Our conversations may begin in living rooms, community spaces, campuses or around a table. But they rarely end there.
Someone asks a question we keep thinking about. We hear the same misconception again. We meet someone whose story deserves more attention. We attend an event that leaves us with something to unpack. Or we find something worth sharing beyond the people who happened to be in the room.
So We Started Writing It Down.
We write about what we’re seeing, learning and questioning: antisemitism, Israel, Jewish identity, media and misinformation, allyship, difficult conversations, events we attend, people we meet, and ideas worth exploring further.
Sometimes we take you inside a BCTC conversation — sharing what people asked, what surprised us and what happened when people from different backgrounds sat down together.
In A Living Room In Atlanta, People Said Things Out Loud
What happens when people with different backgrounds sit together, ask questions and say things they may not normally say out loud?
Sometimes we share what we learn from others — experiences that stay with us and stories that ask us to listen before deciding what we think.
What Does It Mean To Bear Witness Right Now?
What does it mean not simply to learn about someone else’s experience, but to truly listen to it?
The Conversation May End. The Questions Usually Don’t.
And sometimes we use the blog to unpack the questions, misconceptions and ideas that keep showing up around us.
Because some ideas need context. Some questions deserve more than a quick answer. And some stories lose something important when we try to squeeze them into a caption.
Keep Exploring.
Browse what we’ve been writing about and find a subject, story or question that speaks to you.
The blog is also where we share people we think you should know, resources worth discovering, reflections from events and encounters, and questions we’re still thinking about ourselves.
Read something you agree with — or something that makes you think again.
Because the conversation may end for the evening.
The Thinking Doesn’t Have To.
